American Truck & Rail Mural Pt 2, 2021

My project at American Truck and Rail Audits has come to an end with the completion of this second mural. This one may be smaller than its counterpart but the curved details of the waves and the straight lines of the container boxes demanded a lot of time and attention. In the end all that work was well worth the results.

Curves can be more forgiving but the biggest challenge with this mural was in painting the straight lines without the help of painters tape. Because the surface had so much texture, it prevented the tape from properly sealing and creating crisp lines. In the end I had to freehand all the lines and edges. Thankfully, the surface texture worked with me in making the little imperfections less noticeable.

In total, this smaller mural took a little over three weeks to complete. I’m so happy to have the two murals finished and see how they work together to add so much color and life to the space.
