Main Street Pocket Park Mural, 2021

exterior paint

The Downtown Little Rock Partnership together with Ben E. Keith Foods, renovated an empty lot and turned it into a pocket park. They selected ten artists to each paint a mural on the walls of the park. The murals focused on Ben E. Keith’s motto “Eat Local, Eat Often”.

I was very blessed to be one of the ten artists selected. In my mural I decided to illustrate the variety and diversity of the foods available in the downtown area. Because I decided to work with a monochrome color pallet I wanted to depict foods that had a strong visual presence; foods that are easily recognized despite the lack of familiar color.

For more detail, check out this KARK news piece about the park and get a little peek of me and the other artists hard at work. You can also check out the park in person by going HERE.
